SERVICES HAVE TESTED POSITIVE. PHOTOS FROM CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES AT THE GENESIS CHURCH — CHURCH ARE POSTED TO ITS FACEBOOK PAGE. FOUR GATHERINGS RUNNING AN HOUR EACH WERE HELD LAST WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. NOW, 44 PEOPLE WHO ATTENDED THOSE SERVICES HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19, ACCORDING TO AN EMAIL OBTAINED BY NEWSCENTER 5. GENESIS RELEASED A STATEMENT THAT READS IN PART, “WE ARE DEEPLY SADDENED TO LEARN THAT PEOPLE WITHIN GENESIS TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 AND WE ARE DOING ALL WE CAN TO MAKE SURE THIS DOES NOT SPREAD ANY FURTHER. EVERY INDIVIDUAL WHO ATTENDED CHRISTMAS EVE AT GENESIS HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE SITUATION AS WELL AS BEING ENCOURAGED, WHETHER SYMPTOMATIC OR NOT, TO GET TESTED FO COVID-19.” CHURCH LEADERS ALSO SAY THEY LIMITED ATTENDANCE AT EACH SERVICE AN AVERAGE OF 105 PEOPLE OR 35% OF THE BUILDING OCCUPANCY. MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WERE REQUIRED, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THOSE LEADING SERVICES ON STAGE. THAT INCLUDES WHAT APPEARS TO BE A BAND WITH SINGERS. A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH COMMUNITY WHO DID NOT ATTEND THESE SERVICES TELL US OFF CAMERA THAT IT IS DISAPPOINTING, THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN GATHER, DOESN’T MEAN YOU SHOUL THE CHURCH IS WORKING WITH THE BOARD OF HEALTH AND LOCAL HEALTH OFFICIALS TELL US THAT THEY CONFIRM THE CLUS
