Iowa reports 146,603 people have received second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, active cases at 17,102

(KTIV) – A total of 589,056 vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents. Of those administered doses, 340,244 were Moderna and 248,812 were Pfizer.

According to the state’s COVID-19 dashboard, 146,603 people have gotten their second vaccine dose, thus completing their vaccine series.

As vaccinations continue across the state, total COVID-19 hospitalizations have risen to 227, an increase of five since Feb. 22.

There were 621 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 333,383.

The state’s website says that of the people who have tested positive, 310,881 have recovered. This is 1,312 more recoveries than what the state reported yesterday.

The state’s death toll has risen to 5,400, which is 26 more than reported yesterday.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (310,881) and the number of deaths (5,400) from the total number of cases (333,383) shows there are currently 17,102 active positive cases in the state.

In Iowa, there were 3,191 new test results in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,542,796 people have been tested for COVID-19.
