Mortal Kombat Creator Reveals The Strangest Fighter Request Made So Far

Ed Boon is a well-known video game developer as he’s one of the developers behind the iconic fighting franchise Mortal Kombat. That series has been around for years first in the arcades and now on traditional gaming platforms. With each new installment released, there’s a storyline attached, a slew of fan-favorite characters along with some new guest fighters as well. In some ways, fans enjoy seeing just who will be dropping into the game for a fight thanks to the surprising DLC fighter packs that release post-launch.

Currently, the latest installment is Mortal Kombat 11 which came out last year. It’s been a hit just like the previous release, Mortal Kombat X, likewise, there are several guest fighters that players can take control of. Fans are also vocal about what fighters they would like to see featured as well, as there are the notable past fighters that are not initially added into the roster which dedicated fans will point out for a return. Furthermore, some fans suggest fighters from other IPs to join into the mix.

For instance, In Mortal Kombat 11 we’ve seen the Terminator, Joker, RoboCop, to even John Rambo step into the game. However, there are still fans that make requests to both Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios for who they would like to see join next. Recently, Ed Boon was interviewed by the FestiGame Twitch channel where the subject of the strangest guest fighter request has been so far in the Mortal Kombat franchise.

There have been quite a few unique requests, but to Ed Boon the oddest request he receives is himself. Fans have been asking for a playable character of Ed Boon to show up in Mortal Kombat, but it’s one guest fighter that you’re not going to see anytime soon. Ed Boon was quick to shut down the requests as he doesn’t find it all that entertaining to see his character get his head chopped off in some unique fatality.
