“He also said yes, let’s end this so strangers don’t feel bad and a bad image doesn’t happen,” he said, adding that when the show resumed he said it was a joke and that he was teasing Niaz, but “I also asked him to apologize to the air, but he didn’t.”

What happened on the show?

Controversy erupted when guests gathered to discuss the game after Pakistan’s win over PTV Sports.

As Akhtar recounted anecdotes about cricket, in which he credited the Pakistan Super League team Lahore Qalandars with hearing about Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, Niaz seemed offended and struck back at Akhtar.

“You’re a little rude and I don’t mean that: but if you’re too smart, you can go. I say it on the air,” Niaz said to the stunned Shoaib, interrupting him and advancing. invited to comment.

It was unclear what bothered Niaz the wrong way, and it seemed that Shoaib himself had been caught off guard.

As the tension in the room increased after the break, Niaz requested a commercial break.

The show later resumed, but the atmosphere remained charged and Akhtar, despite his best efforts, apparently struggled to overcome the way he was cut off.

He ultimately decided to walk away from the show after apologizing to the other guests, including Sana Mir, Sir Viv Richards, and David Gower, among others.

“Many apologies guys, many apologies. I am leaving PTV. From the way I was treated on national television, I don’t think I should be sitting here right now. So I’m resigning. Thank you very much,” he said, before taking off the microphone and stand up of the table.

Niaz, seemingly unfazed by Shoaib’s departure, continued to read his script as if nothing had happened.
